Village Heating
Village Heating was formed in 1992 to provide heating and plumbing services for social landlords. At its inauguration, the company set out its long-term strategy to provide an efficient, economical and effective service for its clients. In 1999, as an established company working for more than a hundred valued customers Village Heating was incorporated as Village Heating Ltd and became a dedicated specialist social housing contractor. By fully adopting the principles of rethinking construction set out in 1998 by Sir John Eagan, VHL has expanded its client base and have worked in more than 80,000 homes servicing appliances and updating systems but above all, achieving best value for their clients. Having achieved the BS EN ISO 9001 in 2000 VHL has continued to improve both its processes and its performance.
In 2001 VHL was awarded with DTI Quality Mark for providing a quality service to their clients. Their Clients now include ALMO’s as well as the MOD; and they have valued experience in working in partnership with clients and operating on open book contracts.
VHL where the first customer to purchase AccuServ when in its development stages, and provided extensive help in the concept of both traditional and partnership contracts, ensuring AccuServ could cope with any type of contract it came across.
David Kelly, Managing Director and owner of VHL says; “Through our innovative development we have helped design the AccuServ product, and without any question it helps us sustain our growth without compromising quality and has allowed us to be more efficient in our processes in delivering all the clients requirements, including Asset management, KPI’s and whole life costing.”
VHL are a member of LAPN and AccuServ certainly helped them to gain the credibility to be accepted at that level. This membership has won them contracts with Barnet Homes, Circle Anglia and Octavia Housing, to go with their existing contracts including PCHA and Crown Estates.
Mobile working and eCP12 are in operation on the Circle Anglia contract, and will be rolled out across all other contracts shortly.
“Although we have been ready for mobile working and have had pilot schemes in place for several years” comments David “we felt the hardware technology was not stable, and we have therefore waited till now to activate it. From the horror stories I hear about, I am convinced we took the right approach, but because we have done all the preparation work, we are able to jump in and reap the benefits of improved efficiencies with little pain”.
VHL employ 45 specialist gas engineers and 15 admin staff and operate out of two offices.
